Love you Grandpa
This past Monday my Grandpa Toomer passed away. We knew it was coming but took us by surprise how quickly it happened. That sounds silly when I read that. My grandpa's health wasn't good and we have been saying for awhile that he could be going anytime. My dad was in discussion with my grandmother about putting my grandpa in a nursing home because of his health when my grandpa had to go to emergency and icu. From there he was admitted into the nursing home by his doctor. He was there only a couple of weeks and was going downhill fast. The day he passed away seemed like just another day. My grandpa had talked to my dad that morning and just a couple hrs later my dad got the call that he was going. When my dad and mom got there, it wasn't long and he took his last breathe. We know he is at peace now and with no pain. I am grateful for that.
The week was a crazy week. We saw a ton of family and so grateful that we could all be there for my grandmother. Brian and I had to participate in the funeral services. It was a nice funeral. Ya know it is good when there are tears but laughs as well. I think I am seriously emotionally drained right now. It might take me a week to recover from this ordeal.
I do hope my grandmother stays strong and moves on with her life. She is doing ok health wise and I think she should take this opportunity to do things with her siblings and kids and live life. My dad is doing okay. He is a strong man and this really broke him down. I know he will bounce back soon and hopefully get to start enjoying the golfing season.
I will miss my grandpa. He was a sweet guy. I can't wait for the day when I get to see him again.
Love you grandpa!
